“After graduation, I am joining the Army. After completing training, I will be a Practical Nursing Specialist. My plan is to work as a PNS for a year and apply for Army-Baylor’s Occupational Therapy Program. I am so thankful for my experience at the Center for Student Leadership. I have learned to persist through hard times, to be confident, and to never let self-doubt get in the way of my goals.”
Christina Thomas, Psychology
“All good things must come to an end. Three years at TWU not only gave me a degree but memories to hold on for a lifetime. Being a part of the Center for Student Leadership is one of the best things that happened to me at TWU. The Center completely changed my perspective about leadership. I learned how to be a good leader and about the importance of being kind, patient, and how to boldly go.”
For this year's annual holiday celebration, our students participated in an ugly sweater competition, a gingerbread village building match, they got loads of candy, and they wrote each other heartfelt letters. Our graduating Fall 18' seniors were also warmly recognized and celebrated. Tis' the season to be together!
For our annual Fall Retreat we returned to the Lone Oak Ranch and Retreat in Gainesville, Texas. For this retreat, we donated to several international business through Kiva, talked retirement plans, participated in team building activities, played a series of games, went on a scavenger hunt, and heard from a fantastic guest speaker, Brian Manhart, President and CEO of Lone Oak! Brian Manhart spoke about managing distractions to accomplish your goals and how to use the power of vulnerability to effectively connect with others.
This was just another unforgettable experience for us to bond and build as leaders!
